A quick and delicious side perfect for chilis and stews
Ingredients
- 3 Cups Flour
- 3 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1/3 Cup Chinook Honey
- 12 oz King Arthurs Dry Mead (or any traditional mead)
- 1/2 cup Melted Butter
- 1 Cup grated Old Cheddar Cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees and butter a loaf pan
- Combine dry ingredients
- Combine the mead and honey and stir.
- Add mead mixture to the dry ingredients
- Fold in grated cheese
- Pour into prepared pan
- Pour the melted butter over the dough
- Bake approx 1 hour.
- Remove from pan and cool
Tips
Bake on the middle rack of the oven to ensure the bottom does not get over browned during baking.
