A quick and delicious side perfect for chilis and stews

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 3 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1/3 Cup Chinook Honey
  • 12 oz King Arthurs Dry Mead (or any traditional mead)
  • 1/2 cup Melted Butter
  • 1 Cup grated Old Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and butter a loaf pan
  2. Combine dry ingredients
  3. Combine the mead and honey and stir.
  4. Add mead mixture to the dry ingredients
  5. Fold in grated cheese
  6. Pour into prepared pan
  7. Pour the melted butter over the dough
  8. Bake approx 1 hour.
  9. Remove from pan and cool

Tips

Bake on the middle rack of the oven to ensure the bottom does not get over browned during baking.
